Broccoli Beef
INGREDIENTS:
1 Pack FFF Sirloin Tip or Carne Asada
2 Tablespoons Baking Soda
2 Tablespoons Corn/Potato starch
1 Head Broccoli - Cut into small stalks
Optional: Any other Veggies you like, cut into smaller pieces/strips
1/4 Cup Water
Sesame Seeds
Sauce:
1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
1/4 Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Rice Vinegar
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
3 Cloves minced/crushed Garlic
1 Teaspoon Grated Ginger
DIRECTIONS:
1. Defrost the Steak, then slice into thin strips against the grain. Once cut, put all the steak strips into a bowl and add in the Baking Soda and Corn Starch and a splash of water. Stir gently until the steak is fully coated with the dry ingredients, then set aside for at least 5 minutes.
2. In a frying pan or Wok, add in a generous amount of oil and put to medium heat.
3. Once the oil is heated, add in the steak strips to cook for about 6-7 minutes.
4. When the meat is almost done cooking, remove from the pan and set aside.
5. In to the same pan add the Broccoli stalks, along with about 1/4 cup water and cook/steam them for about 5 minutes.
6. Remove the lid and let cook for another couple of minutes before adding in your sauce ingredients, and stir well to fully incorporate them together with the veggies in the pan. Let it the Broccoli simmer in the sauce for about 5 minutes.
7. Once the Broccoli reached your desired softness, add the steak back into the pan, and stir everything together. The sauce will naturally thicken once you add the meat back to the pan because of the baking soda and corn starch coating.
8. Serve hot over rice, top with Sesame Seeds and Enjoy!
