One Pot Creamy Pasta

One Pot Creamy Pasta

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb FFF Italian Sausage
1 Box Penne Pasta
1/2 Onion, Diced
1 Carton Chicken or Beef Broth
2 1/2 Cups Homemade Marinara Sauce (or 1 Jar Pasta Sauce)
Basil
Salt
Pepper
Oregano
Garlic Powder
Grated Parmesan
1/2 Cup Cream Cheese

Marinara Sauce:
1 Can Crushed Tomatoes
1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste
1/2 Diced Onion
3 Cloves Crushed/Diced Garlic
Olive Oil
Basil
Salt
Pepper
Oregano

DIRECTIONS:
1. For the homemade marinara sauce: In a pot on low/medium heat, add a small amount of Olive Oil, then add in the Diced Onion. Once soft and fragrant (4-5 minutes), mix in the Garlic, Tomato Paste and spices. Add the can of crushed tomatoes, and vigorously mix to help break up the chunks. Once fully mixed, leave it on simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally (season to taste as it cooks!). Once the sauce has reduced by about a third and develops a deeper red color, it is ready!
2. In a large pot on medium/high heat, add the defrosted Italian Sausage and diced onion. Add in your spices, and brown the sausage mixture.
3. Once the sausage is browned, add the Pasta and pour over the Broth and the Pasta Sauce, mixing as you pour.
4. Let your pot simmer until the Pasta is Al Dente (Around 10-12 minutes). Remove from the heat and stir in the cream cheese, making sure to mix thoroughly.
5. Add the grated parmesan to the top, serve and Enjoy!
